Was thrown for a minute by the term "banger". All I could think of was "bangers and mash"
My favorite beater is my Ibanez Artwood AC240. Same size and dimensions (scale, nut etc) as my Taylor so perfectly comfortable to play on the porch or at a bonfire.

My favorite banger is a Taylor 314ce.... Has been almost since I got it, and it quickly took a few licks.
The banger it replaced was a Martin Shenandoah D28.

+1
Actually, +2 (I own two). I hate to think of them as "bangers", since I see them as fine guitars. They are just very low cost guitars in my high falutin fleet. Even cheaper is my Recording King. At $199 it was a SDOTD, but it's not my "favorite" banger and can't hold a candle to a Big Baby. |
