Default "Practice" Amp for my Martin SC13e

I am looking for a small amp to use with my Martin SC13e, which has an undersaddle pickup. I'm not after any effects. I only want to amplify the pure acoustic sound. It will only be used for my own pleasure in a small room. $140 is my top price, and no, I'm not interested in swapping out the piezo. Thanks!

I don't own one.. But the reviews are excellent on the little Fender Acoustasonic 15 - Acoustic Combo amp.

Acoustasonic is a solid practice amp. I've got the larger Acoustasonic Jr which is a bit much for a practice amp, but still serves the purpose. Quite affordable

for that budget you dont have many options. I think the Fender would be fine

When I got my Loudbox mini a few years ago, I tried all of the less expensive amps that I could. I didn't play the Fender 15, but I did play the Fender 40. I wasn't impressed at all by it. I think the Acoustic (GC/MF brand) 15, and especially the Acoustic 20, which you can find on sale for that price, sound much better.

Thank you lowrider (and others) for your suggestions. I was so undecided after spending time in GC and Music and Arts. I saw and tried out the little (and I mean little) Fender Acoustasonsic 15. I don't know how they make that thing look so much bigger online. A lot of sound from a tiny box. Also tried the Acoustic a15 (6.5" speaker). Couldn't get excited. Then I was offered the Acoustic a20 (8" speaker, 2 channel, Chorus and Reverb) at a discount price. It was over my budget, so I left it at the store. Told my wife about it and she shocked me by saying "If that's the one you want, get it." Now mind you, I had just encouraged her to buy a $120 Tommy Bahama zip sweatshirt. (Sweet move.) So I bought the Acoustic a20, and so glad I did. After getting the EQ dialed in, I am so impressed. My SC13e is really surprising me with the amplified tones I'm getting - better than I had dreamed. Enjoying it immensely.

Congratulations, I like the A20. I liked the LB Mini better, but the A20 was my second choice and it's less than half the price of the Mini.

I like playing plugged in at home with the amp facing me. It lets me hear what's going on much better.

Glad you're enjoying your new amp!

Can't recall which Acoustic acoustic amp I played through, but I thought it was very nice, especially for the $$$ involved; my friend told me he paid $150 for it? Trapezoid shape, kind of tilted back a little from upright... is that the one you got?

In any event, glad you got something you like - and that you have wife you love!

Yes, mine is a trapazoid shape, with the speaker facing up at about a 45 degree angle - the perfect monitor. Got it for $170, $20 off the regular price, and yes, a wife I love.

My tastes change almost daily, but here is my current EQ setting. On-board tone control still flat.

I'll be it sounds great like that.

I really like playing at home with an amp. Much better than just sitting behind the gutar.
