Default Anyone See The ACPAD Yet? Blow yer Mind

This is the max! Not sure if I would get one, but you have to check it out. First wireless midi controller for acoustic guitar.

They have demo tracks up, looks crowd sourced.

Pretty amazing stuff.

You would have to be a really seasoned fingerstylist to get the most out of this....but its a whole new ball game.

Not sure which mod put this in here, but this has nothing to do with acoustic amplification!

I got their E-Mail about the Kickstarter campaign on Oct. 22 2015...I don't know if I'll get one, but interesting nevertheless...

That sounds like the future, all right. All the magic of that is in the technology, not in the music. But then, I'm an old guy who loves even older music. I expect the kind of all-acoustic, all-live music I love to hear and play will all be lumped in with what classical musicians now call "early music", by the end of this century if not before. A music-making by and for a tiny subgroup, like lutenists today.

I thought this forum was for effects as well? The subtext says:

Join us here to discuss acoustic guitar pickup systems, amplification, effects, and live sound

As with anything it's not for everybody, I personally would love it. I could make use of the sounds from my midi gear.

I'd just program it to do fart sounds, so no thanks.

Joni Mitchell used a midi pickup on a Roland guitar so she could hit a pedal and change tunings. It has its place. It's a pickup and wireless. Why shouldn't it be discussed here? All that comes under the rubric of amplification.

Well its not really amplification, its a new instrument. But it will work here.

I intend to follow up on this and see if it gains any traction.
