Pretty much the crappy room.

I did a couple of post recording tweaks on the original recording. To my ears it sounded pretty good to begin with.
As the lowest note played in the piece is around 110 hertz I did a low pass starting about 95 hertz to clarify the sound a bit, brought up the left channel 1.5 db, and then used a clean sounding reverb at 22% wet to dry to add a little space but to keep note clarity. Wow rick-slo, amazing how much some level tweaks and a good reverb can add... Especially the second one is very nice!
The first one is very natural sounding, I hardly hear any reverb but the sound is smoother and not as thin, but still in your face like the original. What reverb plugin / settings were these?

There's some harshness I'd want to cut as well as boosting the bass end, something like this. Maybe I've softened it up too much though:

In the clip below I added another tweak to my prior tweak. Regarding noise in the clip, instead of using noise remover software, at the very end of the piece I gradually raised the volume of the frequencies near 110 hertz and 220 hertz with an equalizer (the notes played on the guitar) while gradually reducing the volume of the overall track. Not perfect but fairly effective I think in decreasing the background noise.

I can't get past the magnificent playing to worry much about anything else
I do think for my ear Lowden guitars represent the best of the best in terms of tone although this clip is somewhat unusual in terms of seemingly bumped mid-range. Still I love it...that and the playing is really, really wonderful.Don't need to change much for me....it's just lovely.
