Default Somewhere Over The Rainbow, 1939

"Over the Rainbow" is a ballad by Harold Arlen with lyrics by Yip Harburg. It was written for the 1939 film The Wizard of Oz, in which it was sung by actress Judy Garland in her starring role as Dorothy Gale. It won the Academy Award for Best Original Song and became Garland's signature song.

Dedicated to my best friend, Sergio Nabatar Jr aka Jok-Jok, who I have not seen for a long time. This is his favorite song, playing with his ukulele.
Also, dedicated to all peoples looking for a hope and peace in this troubled world.

Really well done, Rene!

That's a tough song to sing well, especially that octave jump in the first phrase. You sound great on this!

You’re a very talented man, Rene. Very well done.

I hope that you play out or somehow entertain folks beyond just posting on guitar forums. You could bring joy to a lot of people with your singing and playing. You put a lot of emotion into your performance.

Roger

Hi Roger,
Thank you so much for your wonderful comments.
I am playing now for our local Senior Center, which I am truly enjoying.
My wife and I play for our local church, x2. We play every Tuesdays and Sundays,
Music has always been a big part of my life, guitar and singing is always in my routine.
Love this.
Thanks again.
Rene

beautifully done! Really very nice cover. Didn't expect to see this song here, kinda surprised ,cause right now I'm learning Tommy Emmanuel's instrumental version of that song , such a coincidence.

Rene,

That was one of your best. Smooth singing and great guitar. Love the chord progressions on this one.

It was just a matter of time till you presented this standard, Rene, and I couldn’t have asked for more.
You are the nuclear bomb of smooth songs my friend.

Hi Frank,
You are so appreciated.
Your comments are well loved.
This is a bomb of a song, and quite a challenge, as the vocals is very bare and open.
Thank you for the wonderful words!!!
Respectfully,
Rene
