Default Martin D-28 1999

Hello everyone,

I was offered a C F Martin D-28 built in 1999 with a Fishman Gold (?) piezo pickup. The instrument is in a good condition, very straight grain, almost no scratches, frets seem fine and the setup is ok. Price is 2.200 EUR here in Berlin.

I own a D-18, built in 2015 (Reimagined) and I really like itīs direct sound, the mahagony and the light weight. Of course, the D-28 is heavier but I also like the thinner nut size (1 11/16 inch) and the warmth and overtones.
Has anyone ever owned or played a 1999 D-28? Any hints are appreciated.

Seems like a decent price for a D-28. I've seen them go for a little less and a little more depending on condition. I'd say the D-28 might not replace your D-18 if that's what you were asking , since rosewood and mahogany will be different. The D-18 is considered more versatile and good for playing in acoustic jams since it's very loud. I'm sure the 28 would be an amazing guitar as well. Conundrum indeed.
