Thanks nashmore and TomB'sox,

Besides reasonable prices, one of the advantages of wood that is in good supply is likelihood of finding some really beautiful pieces among the natural variety.

Default Back to BRW2

I got the binding and abalone on the top today. Tomorrow I'll clean it up and see it shine!

Thanks!

Mark, I've changed my mind. Flip the soundboard....I would rather see the grain on the other side.

You want me to flip this?

So you can see the other side?

Sure, no problem:

Default Clean'r Up

I started cleaning up the body today. Here are a couple pictures of the top:

We're working out the wood selections for the headstock now as I'll be putting the neck together next week. I'll also have more pictures of the back and sides all cleaned up

Thanks for viewing!

I have been curious to see how the ebony bindings came out on this. Any shots available of that?

Mark, that's one of the most breathtaking guitars I've ever seen. Sublime.

Thank you Mark,

Outstanding. The black really sets off the Brazilian doesn't it? It brings out the dark colors in the BRW and makes a great contrast for the abalone as well. Another outstanding guitar from the Hatcher workshop in frozen NH.

Is "hornswoggled" the same as "gobsmacked"? If these are interchangeable terms, I can use either one to describe my reaction to these incredibly beautiful guitars on your workbench, Mark?
I mean, every new picture you post, I'm poleaxed-gobsmacked-knocked usunder...

Thanks Steve!

I think "hornswoggled" is more along the lines of being bamboozled but, I'll take it as you meant it Thank-you

Exactly! You nailed it. That was our full intension going with the black ebony binding, to bring out the black grain lines in the Brazilian and show off the abalone.

Thanks!

Default The Neck

I'm working away on the neck for this BRW Josie.

The fretboard is BRW. If you have been following my build threads you may recognize the grain on this fretboard as I had a number of these I resawed from a very nice billet. This is the last one but, it's going out in abalone!:
