If you build it with a cutaway, well, maybe schedule *my* leg at the end of the road-trip...

I'm interested. Are you still in New Smyrna Beach or did I hallucinate that you moved out of Florida?

I’d love to participate! The guitars in those photos look incredible. I’ve never played very long on a guitar with woods like #2; redwood would be very intriguing to me for sure.

I’d love to be a part. I’d happily shoot some video while it’s here... I got to do this with one of Gustav Fredell’s early guitars and it was such a meaningful thing to capture.
Thanks Simon

---------------------- Okay, due the number of posts on this thread and some emails I've received, it looks as though there is enough interest to warrant sending a guitar out on a roadtrip. I could actually use the Sinker Redwood | Walnut guitar for the roadtrip. It's a guitar I built to send to a dealer in Asia but I haven't made arrangements for that yet. I'd like to send something out that most folks will enjoy. I personally love Redwood but in my experience, most players tend to prefer some variation of a Spruce / Rosewood combination. I was thinking I would build a Sitka/Cocobolo fanfret. I have some Nicaraguan Cocobolo that has a taptone eerily similar to Brazilian RW. I could also build a Spruce top with some type of Ebony back/sides (Malaysian Blackwood or Macassar). So think it over a bit, and post back with a wood combination that you would really like to demo. |

Roadtrip guitar
I would really enjoy a chance to demo one of your Spruce topped Nicaraguan Cocobolo OM's.
After playing your offerings at the '15 Memphis Guitar Festival I hoped to own a Fay someday and I was recently fortunate enough to acquire a 2015 Adi-BRW Model One. Just a really great focused sounding OM that is comfortable to play and beautifully designed. Best with whatever B&S combination roadtrip guitar is selected...great to see this come back. |

If the guitar heads close to lower NY, i’m In, and if you send the redwood out, I’d take up Jeff on the gathering offer in DC; that would be worth a 5 hour drive to play. I am an odd duck, and really have never cared for a Cocobolo guitar, if you do an ebony or Malaysian Blackwood, that would also be wonderful to play. But that redwood guitar is stunning.

That redwood guitar is stunning! I love the look and tone of redwood and this is just gorgeous. I'd love to play it! And there's no wait! But if others vote for something else, I'll play whatever you send

If they sound as good as they look, I would be interested.

Whatever you fancy
Whatever you want to build and send I will gladly play for a week! I would vote for a slim short scale neck, with a 1 3/4" or 1 25/32" Nut and 2.25" string spacing but that is just me and my small old hands... I know bmh1 (Beth) has similar taste in necks, too.
And, I will be happy to get to play whatever you want to send out for us all!!! This is cool! May your herds increase... Paul

Whatever represents your sound the best would be fine with me, but all else being equal, I'd love to hear that redwood/walnut guitar.

I'd be interested as well !! Personally I would really like to try a redwood topped guitar with Brazilian B/S, 1-3/4 nut 2-1/4 string spacing... short scale, cutaway...
