Default What Christmas/Holiday shows are you watching this year?

What Christmas/Holiday shows are you watching this year? I haven't watched anything but the classic Rudolph, Frosty, Kris Kringle, and Baby New Year animated shows I grew up watching in the 70s are classics.

Any movies/tv shows you watch? Holiday or seasonal?

Our typical load:
Miracle on 34th Street (the original)
A Muppet Christmas Carol
The Man Who Invented Christmas
Family Man
Joyeux Noel
National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation
The Grinch Who Stole Christmas
Home Alone
A Christmas Story

Tomorrow night we'll be dressing up and going to the Virginia Symphony's Handel's Messiah as we do whenever we can.

Bob

My kids don't watch television. Odd, isn't it? They catch clips on YouTube but can't sit still long enough. It's a weird generation. They're actively lazy with lots of nervous energy and short attention spans.

There are way too many technological distractions. When we were young, all we had was a television, a radio and some kind of stereo.

Yeah, it's odd though. TV is a pretty bad tradition when you think of it but the times they are achangin'.

We usually watch Terry Pratchett's "Hogfather" together, though last year my teenaged son didn't want to watch (seemed childish, or something that old people watch, or both of those things together).

The other, shorter, thing we watch is Stephen Colbert's Christmas show that ran several years ago on Comedy Central in the US. A deft parody of the holiday specials of my youth.

Charlie Brown and National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation, voluntarily.

Plenty of others as a captive audience, I'm sure.

Well Kirk Russell has a new Xmas movie as of last year, I'd recommend it, he plays Santa, and does his Elvis impersonation in it,

Every year on the 24th for the last 30 odd years, the 1951 classic A Christmas Carol (Scrooge) with Alastair Sims.

Me too. And another favorite from my childhood, Mr. Magoo's Christmas Carol.
