Default UST Replacement Question

I'm replacing my old U Saddle T in my martin with a new K&K soundboard transducer system.

Can I just remove the saddle transducer? Will that change the saddle height? Or should I just clip the lead and leave the transducer in?

Would there be any tone effects?

Thanks in advance.

For the best sound I would recommend having a new saddle made that is the proper height i.e. ditch the UST. I've installed a number of K&K (it's the brand I recommend as well) and you'll really like it.

I'll add to Ben's excellent advice: for optimum tone/volume, the saddle should be snug enough in the slot, to lift the guitar up by the saddle, unstrung.

OK, thanks. Remove and get new saddle made.
Thanks for the input.
