Default Lowering action on Taylor Jumbo - HELP!

Hi, guys!
I want to lower my strings, myself! Would appreciate any inputs on that, like:

- What kind of sandpaper to use on a bone saddle?
- How to measure heights? Is there any ideal string height?
- Do I have to sand the nut as well?
- Do I have to set the Trust-Rod?

Thanks in advance!
Diogo

make sure you get the bottom of the saddle flat. especially if you have a under saddle piezo pup.

put the sand paper on a flat surface (kitchen worktop?) and slide the saddle across it.

Non-flat bottom or angled flat is the biggest error I see. I can probably do one by hand using a square, but I work on this type of thing all the time. I highly recommend a jig or using a mechanical sander with a guide keeping the bottom at right angles. I test straight and flat and square with a machined plate and a machinist's square.

Have fun.
