iSolo sounds the best of all I've tried. I also like the Schertler Mag-6 and S-mic but nothing I've tried sounds as natural as the iSolo.

In a noisy band environment K&K PW with a feedback buster for me. I also love what Miniflex is creating and works great for quiet gigs, but find that I wish they made a hybrid SBT/ Mic configuration.

There should be more pickup systems listed in the poll.

For my uses, I prefer a SBT and a condenser microphone, followed by an excellent signal chain.

OTHERS for me >>I've tried many as a solo working musician & by far have found the MIJ Takamine's palathetic/cooltube combo to be the best working for the type of music I perform.
My second choice is the Baggs M80/Body Rez combo that I equipped my D18 with and it actually sounds the more natural of the two. However, the dynamic versatility & headroom of the Takamine system is greater...and I play music from Bob Marley to Bad Company, thus I need that versatile range that is feedback resistant at high volumes and can keep up with me without quack & with a pleasing tone.

One of my very favorite Guitars
is my Takamine TF250Sunburst CE
with the Cool tube preamp to which
I added the Triax mag PuP!
Perfect tone.
Lovely instrument.

But I just ordered a K&K Pure Mini for
my Eastman E6om. I have the K&K Meridian
mic mount and a 6 inch 300 dollar High end
sax clippable condenser mic attached which
'slip's" on to the upper bout on many guitfiddles.

Love that KK. Got it in my Martin D-18GE too.
(And yes I do blend that sax mic in at times.)

Happy New Year!

I like multisource systems but hate the inadequate cord/jack system. 1/4" is not adequate, and drilling multiple jack holes mars a guitar IMO. I'd like to see a better connector but I have no idea what the market would be willing to adopt.

The Sunrise is a great magnetic, always sounds good if not always particularly acoustic.

PUTW/OSS #54 dual SBTs are great sounding but need a good preamp always. Same with the Baggs IBeam passive.

Highlander and the DTAR siblings are great-sounding (esp the IP2 with the mic) but the saddle slot changes are not something I like....still, great sound, just plug and play once installed.

I remain fond of the old Fishman Prefix* systems with barn doors on the side, at least in less expensive instruments. They do not provide the best representation of acoustic tone, but as long as they have a reasonably fresh battery they're plug and play, and that matters in a lot of small club contexts.

Yamaha's ART (transducer) gives a truly natural reproduction of sound without sounding quacky like many undersaddle piezo systems. I truly enjoy using it with my pedal board for vocal loops. I can't believe they discontinued it's use in their newer models.

The Taylor ES2 is most impressive as well.

Depends.

For a loud bar gig, a UST. For a more sedate audience, a K&K.

iSolo. You can't beat a wireless mic you can move from guitar to guitar.

It depends... A Matrix or Element UST for noisy gigs and a microphone for quiet ones.

I have used K&K in several guitars for years and like them very much.
That being said, I had Teddy put a Dazzo in my Taylor 910 and it is a notch or two above the K&K I had installed previously.

I'm able to get pretty much the same sound from almost any pickup if I fiddle with it long enough. I give the nod here to the Dazzo by a slight margin because it takes less effort to get the sound I like. Can play it with everything set pretty much flat.

I also think the installation makes a big difference. Teddy spent a good amount of time installing mine and we A/B tested often against the K&K I had in another guitar. I'm not sure I could have gotten the pickup to sound as good as Teddy did.
