Default The other scooped guitars?

There’s no question that Martin dreads are known for there scooped sound, especially the HD varieties and the D-35 (for which I am currently in the market for)

Any other production guitars that you have experienced that match/emulate the EQ curve of the scooped Martin sound?

And yes, if I want the Martin sound then get a Martin. Just curios.

That does sound nice. Listenedto a couple of others vids of the D-55 and I find them to have sweet low end and crispy high end consistency

PB's on my Gibson Custom Historic 1957 SJ-200 really scooped the mids as they wore in - 80/20's restored the flatter, more even balance usually associated with maple guitars.

I find that guitars that are Sitka/EIR tend to be the most mid scooped guitars regardless of make or size....although I do think the larger the guitar the more noticeable the lack of mids becomes....pretty much any deviation from that wood combination that I have owned has been less mid scooped in my experience....

I love the Gibson Sitka/IR dreads and jumbos.
Warning: Some Martin dreads have weak high E strings.

I think the dread design produces big bass and pronounced highs, and EIR adds to that. Most dreads I've owned (7) had that sound, even those that weren't EIR.

My J45v is more scooped than my Martin dread - which I think is only scooped in comparison with smaller guitars which I hear as mid heavy but that’s an old soap box of mine. Others will disagree.
