Default What type of wood is this? (Ryan NAMM vid)

Just watched this vid of Kevin Ryan‘s booth @ NAMM.

What kind of wood was used for b&s of the guitar shown from 1:40 (and again from 5:20)?

Thanks for your help,
Lars

I think it is an ebony, likely “black and white ebony”.

It's Black & White Ebony. I built a guitar with B&W Ebony a couple years ago and am just about to complete another one for a dealer - it can be staggeringly beautiful if you find a high quality set. It's incredibly rare to find in guitar size pieces without significant flaws and is rarely available from tonewood dealers. The sets I have in my inventory, I've had to process and resaw myself.

Thanks for your input, everybody.
Black and white ebony...funny.

Nut and saddle made of white and black ivory would be a perfect match...[emoji1787]

At any rate a really beautiful tonewood.

Lars
