Not sure if this has been mentioned yet but I too have dry hands and find Dunlop Gels work very well and create great tone.

Well... The verdict is in and there was a few that helped. But there was a clear winner for me. I bought and tried pretty much every suggestion... thanks again, I appreciate it.
The grippiest pick to me was by far...

...the Guitar Moose.

Glad the Guitar Moose working for you. Sound didn't really do it for me. This BlueChip is currently my favorite:

I really liked the Guitar Moose, but wanting to experiment I used the Sticky Dots they make and put them on other picks. Something to think about if you decide to do some pic-sperimenting!

Awesome. I find that's always the best way with accessories. Play everything out there and find out what works best for you.

congrats,

Thanks for the idea... I just want to back to the website and saw these and ordered a pack of 10 because I do have other pics I like maybe these will help hang onto them.

Or look for picks that have thumb indentations, or holes in them so you can feel your thumb and finger connect--Wegen and Red Bear both make them, among others.
This place helped make me picky about picks. The Wegens are overall affordable, grippy, and have nice tone. The black one is a Bluegrass model. They are a fraction of the Red Bear and Blue Chip price and the tone is in between but that Red Bear is more pointed.

Charmed Life's owner posts here and he's got a few material choices.

Thanks for being the test subject and reporting back....based on your findings I'm going to give them a try too.

All those picks are awesome, made by great companies. I prefer to see myself as an info source in the General section. Not here for a sales pitch. Feel free to post a materials question here or PM me.

Great thread.

The Guitar Moose Sticky Dots are awesome and I put them on all of my flatpicks. I find that I only need to us one per pick and just make sure the sticky dot is under my thumb. The pick stays right in place. Another thing you may not know is that when the pick wears down you can peel the dot off and move it to a new pick. You can generally do this three or four times before they stop sticking.

I really like Cactus picks. The only problem is lack of response from the seller and really, really slow delivery. I'd buy another pack, but their customer service is awful.
