Just to update, Brian is the first to get me a pretty final quote. Drew did contact me, finally, and I'm awaiting a spec quote from him. Bill seems more interested in selling a model he has in the shop, which I don't think is for me.

Currently leaning towards Heinonen (due to reputation and recommendation) with Applegate in a very close 2nd.

I like Drew as well but just thought the tone OP wanted fit Brian's signature tone a bit better--good luck wherever you end up though! All wonderful builders.

Default New SJ Cedar/EIR

If you are looking for the Olsen sound then Heinoneon is most likely the best choice. Drew has permission to use the Olsen patterns, bracing, neck shape etc. He also hasn't been so long on his own to have developed a more unique tone.

My experience dealing with Drew has been nothing but positive. Right down to the exact specifications on setup and string choices and the best job of intonation I've experienced.

The quality is right up there with the best and top notch woods. While mine came with the upgraded rosette and a Florentine cut-away the price was under 8K.
