I started with Country roads by John Denver I think. Although there migmight be an F in there, now that I think about it.

A great one is 'Have You Ever Seen The Rain' by CCR - play it in the key of G - just G, Em, C and D (the original is in C) and it doesn't need to be too fast.

If you are fingerpicking, any ragtime or Piedmonnt blues will work. IF flatpicking, bluegrass or Americian stuff. Much can be successfully adapted to this style. Explore. For instance I have played "Your Cheating Heart" with a ragtime beat - and it works.
