Default karaoke kids (video and song)

It is a fun but challenging thing to learn more thumb independance, and I tried to make up another song to practice it while I learn songs made up by others using that technique.

I put the beginning on later, for a bit of contrast and then tried to make it a little more syncopated for the rest of the song. The chorus was something I made up a few months ago, and is pretty much just alternating thumb. Maybe two style together, but I thought it was ok.

It is my Larrivee OM-03, capo 4th fret(but I play a different little guitar in the video, no capo), my wife whistles and sings and I play the washboard for a little percussion.

The video is not meant to be taken too serious, but it was a lot of fun doing it.

video: Suddenly YouTube video
mp3: song

That's an understatement!

Another brilliant video, Shawlie. I know you're concentrating on the songs, but the videos are real treats. We're all very fortunate to have you and Martha in out midst.

Thanks very much for watching and listening, and the kind words.

The "purrrr" and other things she put in while trying to make up a second voice (for the chorus and pre-chorus type parts). We thought they were funny enough and gave it a little extra here and there, maybe.

I think my wife did take a film class long time ago in school, but I just thought it would be fun to make something like this. I saw the filters in the program I have and wanted to make a kind of parody of an old home-movie. Like when you are trying too hard to make it look nice, so in the end it just kind of all looks silly. Maybe the parody could be stronger, but that will be for another one, I think.

Thanks agian for the comments.

I enjoyed the song. Thanks!

I'm not a big fan of the video, but I'll download the mp3. I thought the goofy expression on the guitar player's face undermined the song.

Yes, that would be my goofy expression... I admit, I have trouble acting, but will work on it for another next one.

Thanks for listening and the helpful comment!
