FP3
Run using full wet tires, so a mixed up order. Suppose to be wet for qualifying, so the grid could be... interesting. Don't know the weather report for tomorrow.

Poor Charles - engine and turbo swap means he will start from the rear of the grid so he's not risking damaging the car and only drove the minimum 1 lap required in practice to race.

The rain is a great equaliser.
Alonso demonstrated what a great driver he is by putting the Alpine second on the grid. |

I don't want to act as a spoiler. Many of you are in different time zones, and even folks like Bruce across the Int'l Dateline. I'll wait till you guys come in and post your comments on the race before I add mine.
Great race on a great track. It's clear to me that Red Bull and Ferrari still have the fastest cars in the paddock. Talk Soon, Gents, Scott |

Much improved Mercedes - thought Sainz might have won it there for a while - terrible performance from both McLarens.

I was reflecting on Mercedes being within reach of Ferrari in the constructors standings. Of the top three teams, Mercedes's consistency has help them hold steady. I believe they have the fewest DNFs of the three top teams. So far this season Mercedes has had about the best reliability in the paddock. LeClerc was brilliant today and drove like a true champion. If they had another five laps, Charles would likely have been on the podium. Going from 20th to 5th is really stunning, and also showed how fast the Ferrari car is. scott memmer |
