Hi all. I am importing iPhone 11 videos into Reaper and recording guitar on top. Native iPhone videos import just fine as do FiLMIC Pro (iPhone app) videos which are .MOV files. Problems is with videos made with DJI Mimo app that runs my gimbal (still iPhone). The .MP4 files come in 90 degrees out of phase and are very choppy and unusable even after I rotate them in Reaper (90CCW).
Any idea how I can correct this within Reaper or do I need a 3rd app of some kind?

I have never used Reaper. I'd probably experiment with either Handbrake (free) or QuickTime (if you use a Mac) to export your original Mimo file as a .mov and then try your existing process on the conversion? Perhaps more techy folk than I have suggestions too (which is why you posted here, right?)

I would try Handbrake - it's free and works well.
If that doesn't work, then post a short clip in a downloadable cloud location (dropbox, et al.) and let some folks here give it a go. I use Final Cut Pro and do all kinds of rotations (0.1 - 359.9) in it and it seems to handle that well, though I've never seen your particular format.

It's also been discussed in a few past topics here in this forum so I'm sure someone will post a link shortly. The added DLL file eliminates the need to use additional software so the phone files can be easily and directly imported into Reaper. t sounds complicated, but it was actually quite easy to do. EDIT: Here's the first thing that pops up in a search of this forum. You'll find everything you need explained there: https://www.acousticguitarforum.com/...d.php?t=592007 Last edited by Rudy4; 01-08-2021 at 08:45 AM. |

Thanks for the suggestion. I downloaded the (free) Handbrake app and it worked in that it caused the video play "right side up" and stopped the choppiness when in Reaper. I simply dragged and dropped the original video in Handbrake and hit the Start Encode button and it did the rest. Easy enough, but I'll still try and find a direct fix in Reaper.

Handbrake has been around for quite a while and was originally useful for converting DVDs to file formats we could play on our computers, phones and iPads. It's finding new uses, and I think they are still keeping it up to date.
