I'm sure Sean Connery was the only one who played that role wasn't he?

Sean Connery. Danie Craig and Pierce Brosnan did good too. Roger Moore is my least favorite.

My favorite is Sean Connery, I'm old enough to have seen the movies when they first came out. My second favorite was Pierce Bronsan. Craig is good though too.

Connery for me, too.
Problem (for me) with Roger Moore was that he was already The Saint. And he was a great Saint. Loved him in that role...the humor, the action, the panache, all of it. But yeah, when he slipped into the Bond role, he seemed like "neither fish nor fowl" but a substitute in too many respects. No rough edges at all. Again, perfect for The Saint, unconvincing for Bond. But as others have said, I guess it's whoever was your "first." Cheers, Dirk

I'm really surprised nobody mentioned Timothy Dalton.
... Yeah, not really. I think Sean Connery was the best Bond (although I enjoyed Pierce Brosnan) until Daniel Craig redefined the character. It's difficult to compare those two b/c their character portrayals and the eras are so different.

100% agree on both counts. Yes, Connery was my first Bond, so that has an influence, but while you couldn't help but smile at some of Moore's cheesy lines, he wasn't the complete package and though some of his adversaries were arguably better than Connery's, he wasn't believable as an action guy. This too is why Johnny W will always be Tarzan - the guy could and did do his own stunts. I have never liked Daniel Craig and frankly can't wait to see the back of him - very little charisma and he can't do humour.

Who was the best James Bond?
Connery...
Sean Connery.

Sean Connery, for obvious reasons.
Pierce Brosnan, because I liked the films he did and he was an excellent antidote to the crappy Roger Moore films (except for Octopussy, and that had nothing to do with Roger being in it).

Connery was the best but Craig has reclaimed it.
Everything in between was just flotsam and jetsam.

Sean Connery owns the Bond role: tough, sophisticated, smooth, rugged good looks, and cool under pressure, the kind of guy who could probably conquer the world single-handed with a Walther PPK and enough vials of penicillin...

I gotta say Daniel Craig. Then Connery. I also have a soft spot for Brosnan since he was my first James Bond experience, lol.
