Kinda like the number, expense, and quality of the guitars many if us have?

Spending a lot of money on a car is just foolish IMO, yet threads like this are the reason why these cars cost so much. It's marketing and middle aged men are the target demographic. You guys are all nibbling at the hook and practically begging to pay more in car insurance. The only time I don't see gray hair or a shiny dome behind the wheel of one of them, it's because they gave the keys to their young sons or daughters.

Oh well, at least you all aren't drooling over Hummer H2s anymore.

Looking at your Guitar list, the irony is palpable and humorous

Hopefully you've noticed I say lost most of my interest in sports cars for now.

Cars or guitars or sports toys plus lots of stuff. Diminishing returns as you spend.

I always thought that spending mountains of money on guitars was pretty foolish, so there ya' go.

I know a guy who owns two Olson's. They're absolutely stunning guitars, and they sound magnificent... when someone else plays them. He's a horrible guitar player.

Just so much excess capability sitting idle.

That's why I have the Benz. I can put guitars in that.

I have a friend that is very wealthy and bought himself a new Porsche. One that is barely street legal. The biggest baddest production model they make. He never drives it. Knowing that he isn't a "car" guy I asked him how fast has he had it up to. He told me 100 mph. I just shook my head and laughed a little. We both have a mutual friend that races Vipers for a living. The race car driver asked to take the Porsche for a spin. Now the race car driver is crazy. I've had a drive with him where I swore I'd never ride in a car with him driving ever again. And I haven't. We are friends still but I won't ride with him, ever. Those two went for a ride and rumor has it the Porsche owner never opened his eyes. LOL

Believe it or not but most were gifts. The ukulele is probably the most expensive of the lot. The rest cost less than $1000 each. Even the ones I made/am making.

If you want a laugh though, I drive a Honda minivan. It’s probably the most powerful vehicle I’ve ever owned. I like that I can fit three bicycles or a stack of 4’x8’ sheets of building materials in the back. My favorite car though was a Chevy like the Corvette, but it was a no-frills Corsica fleet car and it got 40mpg. It didn’t have an automatic transmission: 2L 4cyl with a 5 speed on the floor and 13” tires. Eat your heart out Prius drivers.

TBH I could have traded that Corsica to a friend for a restored 1972 Chevelle. He couldn’t stop baking the tires off and it was getting costly.

I can fit my acoustic guitar in the trunk of my Miata. It was actually the 2nd thing I checked before buying it after confirming it would get over the driveway bump.

My kind of driving is so far removed from the kind of experience that Vette promises, i.e., "Where's the nearest track?," I'm not remotely interested. (I can't even get excited about the new Miatas, though my wife says maybe in a couple years we could think about it.)
