Sending positive vibes. Fight like mad and keep a positive attitude, even into the most difficult times. Although many of us don't know each other, AGF and other online communities are just that... communities, where we care about each other and wish the best for its members. I hope that the medical staff are able to provide you with the finest care possible, as you enter this battle.

To all the members who responded with positivity, prayers and their own stories of their battles, I thank you oh so much.
I am still in a kind of shock. I talked to the doctor in detail yesterday about what is wrong and treatments. I have two additional tests that need be performed. They will be done next Wednesday. My course of treatment will be based on the results of those tests. Again, I am very thankful for the support AGF members have shown. I have a hard fight ahead of me. I will appreciate any continued support you offer. I intend to continue to offer my .02 cents worth on AGF threads. Paddy |

All the best to you, sir. I'm consoling a sister-in-law whose husband is also in the throws of treatment against an aggressive cancer as well as pulmonary fibrosis, the latter for which there is no known cause nor cure. Every day brings a new discussion and new wishes of hope. I give some of that to you.

Hoping your tests indicate a course of treatment to put this in your rear view mirror.
- my wife was give a rather grim diagnosis re: her (then) breast cancer. That was 15 years ago. Please share news as you see fit. Don

I know someone who was diagnosed a while back and while I can’t begin to understand what he’s going through—he’s all but given up. Won’t do treatment, seek help, etc.
I’m sure keeping a positive outlook has to help in some small way. Unfortunately my friend doesn’t see it that way. Prayers for you.

Paddy, I was told (again) today that I have been very brave to cope with my cancer.
It is a very nice thing for people to say, but Intellectually, I question it. Was I "brave" to wade through the disgusting mire of cancer and the treatment? No, I had no choice. So, therefore your task is clear and simple ... you fight this, you go through all the bad stuff: Set your course - “Second star to the right and straight on 'til morning". You are not alone.

Thanks again to all the AGF members who have responded.
It means a great deal to me. I cannot really express how much the support means. I am presently waiting to hear the results of two tests I had yesterday. These results will determine treatment approach. It is driving me bonkers. I have been responding to different threads as part of a means of distraction. Thanks to all of you. I’m sorry you have to go through this now, Paddy. There is so much waiting in cancer, isn’t there? It seems as though your life is suspended in the not knowing of what will happen next. But it isn’t suspended. In this moment there are bills to be paid, guitars to be played, and cool breezes to be enjoyed. Right now there is love to be taken and love to be given. Especially that.
I know that it’s much easier said than done, but it may help to remember that no matter what comes in the next moment, nothing can take away the present moment. Accept this moment, in all its pain or glory, and try to stay in it. Notice and be grateful for all the wonder and beauty around you. Take pleasure in the tiniest comforts, laugh at the silliest jokes, and deny yourself nothing. Finally, you can release the fears and concerns you’ve carried through the years, because now you see how meaningless they really are. No, I don’t know you, but I know you. I wish you well.

This is awful news to deal with. The most difficult part is getting to the bottom of this. My wife went through two battles with cancer, one ten years ago, the other 4. We got through it.
The capabilities of medicine and treatments these days is astounding. Get the best care you can, and don't ever give up. My prayers go out to you paddy.. |
