Thanks guys. Paul, I'll take distinguished any day, as opposed to extinguished. She is a cutie isn't she? Ryan and his wife have a house full of future heart-breakers.
Yesterday was fun: she said "I want to help you build guitars". Who could turn that down? After the sawing, she had her first go at sanding, and seemed to enjoy it. This bodes well for future employees.

Won’t be long bro you can just sit back in the directors chair and watch the guitars get built by Ryan and his crew. I want some pixies for my shop.

Indeed. But you have an entire crew just up the hill.
Put them to work!

Getting a neck fit before the finish goes onto this tiny parlor.

Wow, Ryan, the parlor looks cool. Haven’t seen too many parlors from the shop. Will be interested to see the finished product here!

Wow, I see the green maple, but is the back of the headstock blue or is that just a camera angle thing?

Maybe this picture will help. The guitar fades from blue to green and back to blue.

Or this one where Steve is taking the lacquer off the bridge area. A dark blue bottom.

I'm not sure whether I want to eat it, or fish it...

Or at least, that's really different? Our client asked for this, a rendition of a Tom Anderson finish. This gradual fade, as opposed to a circular burst, is called a "Surf" finish. This might be a first for our finish ace Tony Ferguson. He lives 5 minutes from Lake Michigan. Discussing the fade from one color to another, I asked him to pattern the gradual change in the colors of the water, greener to bluer. Not sure he stood at water's edge for inspiration, but he nailed the gradual transition. I've never seen such a seamless change.

Glad you guys like it, thanks!

Steve

Oh yes, want to show that Tony carried this gradual change up the sides as well. They show the same color gradation as does the back.

So when the sides join the neck, both sides and heel are the same green. Tony is the man.

Wow--the transitional color and finish are amazing!

The binding really sets things off nicely as well...

I guess I can't be considered in the strangest ask category anymore. My goodness. Never seen anything like that transition before. You guys continue to amaze!
