Default Not Exactly a Guitar...

This is an Octave Mandolin based on the Zorzi venetian archtop design that I do. The plates are hand carved, the top of Sitka; back, sides, binding, front and back head caps are all Oregon myrtle. The fretboard and tailpiece are ebony. Scale length of 25'. Nitro tobacco 'burst finish. Please enjoy...

Thanks for looking!

Nice! Stromberg-Voisinet / Kay Kraft influence?

Edit: oh, I see you mentioned Zorzi. He was apparently the designer/luthier at Kay.

That really is a beauty. I love the burst on the Myrtle.

Very, very nice, Aaron! Stellar workmanship and that burst is just mind-blowingly awesome!

...edit: The more I look at this, the more impressive it becomes!

Beautiful work. I've seen myrtle used in flattop steel string acoustic guitars, but never carved into an arch top like this. I'd love to get a chance to play this instrument some time.

Aaron, I saw on your website that you're familiar with the Kay Kraft archtops, but I'm not sure if you're aware of the Stromberg-Voisinet mandolins. They made some cool instruments back then.
