Default NGD! (and NYR)

Merry Christmas to me!!!

I got my first Ovation, a 1771 LX. Owner of the music store where I work asked me if I wanted it. From what I understand this model is no longer made.
Fresh out of the case -it still had the instruction manual and plastic thingies on the tuners- a quick adjustment and she came home with me last night. Made right here in the USA, in New Hartford, CT - one town away from me!

NYR for 2015 - New Years resolution is not to succumb to GAS. No buying or trading of guitars (but I might outright sell one). I'm going to try to quell buying books also since I have plenty to learn from still.

Merry Christmas and Happy New year to all!

Without further ado, pics or it didn't happen:

better lighting:

Yeah, I also got a $50 gift card for Applebee's. My wife and I had our first date there almost 12 years ago, so we're going on a DATE!

Congrats Rob! It's great to have a "local" guitar, isn't it?

Congratulations. The LX model Ovations are all very nice guitars. I have a 1777 LX which I like a lot. Lightweight, very comfortable for long practice sessions, a fast neck, and excellent balance across the strings.

If you have an amp, try playing it plugged in. Amplified, my LX is possibly the best sounding guitar I have.

Nice score on an LX model !

They made a number of changes for the LX line, and I think they were all for the better. I don't own one, but if Patch sees your post, he will fill you in.
