Arrow SOLD: Martin 000-28M EC 2009 Burst #368/461 Carpathian/Madagascar

FS: Martin 000-28M EC 2009 Burst #368/461 Carpathian/Madagascar

SOLD

I bought one of these some time ago, and sold it during a tough time. When things got better, I bought this one and frankly it is better than the last one was. Tonally it is better and cosmetically it is virtually mint. But, I have three...count 'em THREE customs (the first is about two weeks from now) to fund. Hence, I need the cash flow

To me, this guitar is legendary for several reasons:

1) the quality of the tone and the ease of playing
2) The woods: Carpathian Spruce over Madagascar Rosewood. Frankly this needs no explanation to anyone who knows anything about guitar woods.
3) The collect-ability factors of owning a guitar hand signed by a legend. Ya know, he isn't 25 anymore (nor are many others of us ha!). Eric Clapton will ALWAYS be to me one of the most amazing musicians of our time.

I bought the earlier one Mike referred to. It was an exceptional guitar.

If Mike says this one is better, you can count on it.

Guitars coming from Mike always exceed his description.

Buy with total confidence.

What might you consider as a trade? Also, what is the neck shape of your guitar? Thx!

Pretty sure I bought that last one of his. It's sitting right here with me on the couch. I have trouble believing there's a better one out there but Mike would know since he's played both. Bottom line, these are super sweet guitars. Whoever lucks into one will not be disappointed.

Thanks Rob. I guess I should qualify that this guitar has more of a piano type tone which is super pleasing to me, and in my view better.

I'm really not "looking" for trades. I know some people "need" to trade to buy a guitar, so I offer that as an accommodation. Given the three customs I have nearing completion, I clearly have overspent my limits. So, I would accept guitars from fairly well known builders where at least half of the deal is cash, allowing me to sell the trade. What ya got? I'm pretty sure the neck has s very slight "V" shape, honestly I need to check. It feels very comfortable to play and is not chunky, nor does it have a dramatic feel difference. I'll come back with more specific info soon.

Thank you. Clearly to say one is better than another could be simply personal preference more than it being "better". The first one was SOOO good, I was smitten with it, but the tone was more like some others I owned at that time. This one provides a tone that is enough distinctly different that it provides me with more variety of tone in my stable, slightly more towards the fundamental side of things, hence it is more satisfying to me. All I know is that anyone who buys this one will love it.

What a beauty! And of course Mike is a sterling seller and a stand up guy!!!

My goodness you have gone through a LOT of outstanding guitars. (Like I should talk...)

Must be difficult to let this one go, but we must pay the Luthiers! Even if it takes all our beer money.

Best on this.

Paul

Paul,

Thanks my friend. And yes I have gone through a few GREAT ones, this is just another. I sold several much more expensive guitars before this one because I've just felt this one was better on a "$$ for tone valuation". And yes, those builders like to be paid. So...I will regret selling this one. The collectability factor alone is worth keeping it, but also the woods are just spectacular.

I've had several offers and inquiries, but this one is still for sale. Somebody will pinch themselves when they get this one. Amazing guitar for the money. But, I am open to offers. I need the cash flow pretty soon so make me a reasonable offer...who knows, it could be your lucky day and I take it.

Thank you. Certainly this is a dream guitar for a lot of people. Heck, it doesn't get much better than this!!

I haven't been in much of a hurry to sell this one because I LOVE the guitar. But today I had to write a check to pay for one of my completed builds. So...that means I need some offsetting cash flow. As such, I'm marking this one down to sell. Save $500 right now on an all cash deal.

I assure you, anyone who gets this one will be extremely happy!!

Here's a look at the neck inlays...really cool and custom. This is NOT your "base model" 000-28 EC...THIS is the signature model !!

BUMP-Price reduced again. Somebody needs to buy this wonderful guitar. It is a simply great guitar.

If this price isn't great enough, make me an offer.
