Default how do you clean the fretboard of CF guitar?

I have had number of CF guitars thru the years, and I would just simply take off the strings, spray guitar cleaner product onto a microfiber towel, and just try to buff the fretboard clean before putting new set of strings on. But I noticed that sometimes it wouldn't be sparkly clean. And I was afraid of using 0000 steel wool like rosewood fretboard.

Anyone have resources or tips on cleaning the fretboard of CF guitars? I currently have McPherson Sable and Rainsong Black Ice btw.

Steel wool works great on composite boards too, or a slightly damp cloth

I've never used anything but Windex and a paper towel on my RainSong Concert OM. I do think my fretboard and bridge may have gotten very slightly less glossy/more matte after a couple of years now from this treatment.

My fretboard (and bridge) absolutely get clean this way. But I may try a couple of the RainSong-recommended polishing products to get them both a little shinier.

During string changes, I use a microfiber cloth to get the fretboard looking good. After playing each day, I run a cloth between the strings and the fretboard to keep the skank at bay.
