Hardwood Music Tongue Drum - SOLD!

I know this is a guitar site, but here goes.........

Gorgeous handmade tongue drum from Hardwood Music Company. This is their largest, the "Jumbo 12", and it has 12 "tongues", each a different size and note.

The notes are the tuned to a "standing wave" meditation tuning. These notes create a drone or "standing wave" effect where they feed off of one another and create energy and fullness to the tone of the drum that wouldn't otherwise be there. This tuning originally was done in support of a cancer patient to help them with meditation, relaxation and centering.

This is a piece of art to be proudly displayed, as well as played as a musical instrument. The drum is made of solid African padauk and mahogany woods, which are a nice contrast to each other with the reddish hues of the padauk against the goldeny color of the mahogany. The box is signed by the artist, Michael Thiele, as well as showing the woods and the year produced (2004). This drum was around $750.00 when I purchased it new back then, and the artist told me that if they made one like it today it would be $1,200.00.

Due to home downsizing, I no longer have a place to display this work of art and would rather it go somewhere else where it can be enjoyed. The drum is 24" long x 9" wide x 8" tall.
