Default Everybody's Talkin'- Richard Smith, John Cowan, and myself

Here is a version we put together on the spot for this session. Richard is a national fingerstyle champion at Winfield (2001) if you aren't familiar with him. I won the flatpicking championship at Winfield (1997, 2013, and 2019). John Cowan is a long time member of the Newgrass Revival (just elected to the bluegrass HOF) as well as bassist and vocals with the Doobie Brothers for the past ten years or so. Hope you enjoy.

Lovely! That song needs the little guitar descant on top and yours is the first cover I've heard that employed it.

Allen,
That was lovely. Great singing (John is one of the best, IMO), and great playing by you and Richard.

Wow, Allen!

That was very cool, from three very accomplished players! Sounded great!

And John did a great job on the vocal! I kept wondering if he was actually going to play that bass on the song, but he just had it there to kind of hide behind. I do that a lot, myself, so I know how that works!

What a treat to hear you and Richard Smith playing together like that!

Well done!

- Glenn
