Default Elliot Easton!

I haven’t posted in quite some time, but I just needed to put this somewhere.

I’m teaching my group guitar class to play a couple songs by the Cars. I’ve been listening to these tunes all my life, and I have always enjoyed them. Like a lot of classic rock, they show up everywhere.

But listening closer to make some cheat sheets for class... Holy cow! Elliot Easton is so good! His parts are so much fun, and his guitar solos are all little roller coaster rides! If you haven’t listened closely, check out the first three tracks on their debut album. It’s fun revisiting this old record.

Anyway, I just needed to put my enthusiasm somewhere. There you go.

In my humble opinion, Elliott Easton is one of the greatest, unsung guitar players of all time. His solos were always catchy, cool, sweet and amazing. As good as he is, he never overplayed.... just a perfect solo. Great, great guitarist.

Yep. I remember him chiming in on the Gearpage a few years ago. Seems like a nice guy.

I've had a couple of interesting discussions with him. In one he asked me why I changed the knobs on my ES-335!

I've chatted w/ him on Les Paul forum, great guy it seems. He released a real fun album, (my taste) called Tiki Gods. Check it out, it's not the Cars.
