I keep a Taylor and an electric in my FLA home, and the same combo in my CT part time rental. But having taken deliver of a new Guild 12 string, that's had most of my attention the last few weeks. I almost never play the electrics. (Strat and PRS).

I only have 2 guitars I really play all that much, and they are the two Grand Pacifics. I play them probably 60/40 in favor of the 517. I prefer the look and playability of the 517, as it has a much lower action for some reason and is easier to play. I need to get a setup done on the 717, but haven't gotten around to it.
But, it all really depends on my mood at the end of the day. |

My favorite guitar gets played 95% of the time. It is my favorite, after all.
My 2nd favorite gets played the other 5%, but I still like it and I also like having a backup so it's a keeper. I have a very few others that don't get played much at all., mostly because they are specific used instruments...One is an electric, the other a flamenco, and the other a parlor. I like my dreads much more.

No real strategy here. Any of the guitars I currently own could be my "one and only." So, with that, I have one on a stand in my office (which is always humidified) and the rest are cased in my office closet.
Sometimes, I will amaze myself with the lack of frequency that I put a different guitar on that one office stand. Either I am very content with whatever is out, or just lazy. ;-)

Over the holidays I've been favoring my dread just because it's been sounding really good lately. For the most part, however, I tend to use what's handy. It works best for me not to have preferences, because if I'm in my bungalow the guitar I'll want is surely the one that's up in my cabin, and vice versa.

I have 6 guitars (5 acoustic and 1 archtop). My go to is my Martin D-35 then my Martin HD-28e. I keep my Taylor tuned down 1 note mostly for the Billy Joel songs I've learned. Honestly, the arch top gets little play unless I'm strumming. I love all my guitars for different reasons. I love other people's guitar's for a lot of the same reasons. I just love guitars!!

This week I have been focusing on my 1982 Santa Cruz Dread Cutaway.
Previously I was playing my Northwood L00 because I was gigging with it. Prior to that it was the Brondel A2 Essential. My 64 year old hands are no longer comfortable with medium and light gauge, so I have switched to DAddario Custom lights on the Dread and L00. The Light gauge on the Brondel are too much. I took out the Merrill yesterday because my wife said it’s her favorite. It has the SCGC low tension strings, their version of light gauge. It sounds better than I remember. The Gibson F9 mandolin gets played about once a week, the Weissenborn about once a month, the Kenny Hill Classical about ever six weeks or so, Because I’m in two electric bands, have been playing my Tele, Strat, and PRS. The lap steel is easier on my hands to be sure.

No set rotation schedule, or anything close to one. An ideal day is when I have time to set them all (3-4) on stands in front of me and take turns on each one. When I’m just looking for one to pull out of its case and play a bit, I try to spread the love. Of my wood guitars, and around the house, I probably play my Collings 01 the most. Also, my Rainsong parlor gets a lot of attention because it’s rarely in its case.
