Taylor Strap pin/electric input coming loose
I have a Taylor and the pin spins loose, I can tighten it and it grips for a little while, but it comes loose again soon enough.
I'm assuming this is pretty common. What should I do to tighten it properly, or stop it from happening again. It lasted for probably 5 years without ever doing that before. |

Unscrew the loose cap from the jack.
Use a Q-tip dampened with alcohol to clean the male threads on the jack and the female threads in the cap. Allow them to dry completely. Apply a teensy drop of Loctite (blue) on the male threads and snug the cap down onto the jack. Problem solved. Last edited by Peegoo; 06-12-2018 at 06:15 PM. Reason: I can't spel |

Thank you, and sorry guys, I must have posted this and completely forgotten about it. I still have the problem, but I haven't tried cleaning it yet. will look into that, thx.
It was the pin in the lower bout, that houses the jack for the pickups. |

The loctite is probably a better solution, but I've used a very thin O-ring over the threads for the cap to seat down against. Keeps it from coming off, but also doesn't let it seat all the way down sometimes.
