Default Choice? Dilemma.

Well I am faced with a dilemma. Its down to me of course, but forums are about opinion and I would appreciate any thoughts from you good people, especially from those who have experienced something similar.
For reasons that do not matter here (domestic not financial), one of my guitars has got to go. The obvious thing I thought is to move on the cheap beater. But ,I play that one the most, its comfortable, fits me well and I dont have to worry about it in public. Alternatively, if its one of the "better" guitars I let go, the pride of ownership diminishes, and it doesnt seem the right thing to do. Do I toss a coin?

It'a a buzz to have a "nice" guitar but, for me, enjoyment beats pride any day.

It's great that your beater gives you so much fun!

For me it would depend on the actual guitars. I’m looking here via Tapatalk on my mobile so I don’t know if you have them in your sig.

I agree that confort should beat name but a high or higher end guitar should be able to be as easily playable if it isn’t already.

Why get rid of one at all? Is it a question of space, as surely one more guitar case or gig bag shouldn’t take up that much room?

I would keep the guitar that gives me the most joy...regardless of price point.

Given your description I'd keep the beater.

Were finances are the underlying reason, selling the more expensive guitar is going to "help" the situation more than the cheaper one.

But that's not the case, but it does sound like the beater is more you...

for me the aesthetics of a guitar are part of the enjoyment. Yet you say you prefer the cheaper guitar so it seems youve made the decision already.

I'd keep the better guitars and actually play them, which is why they were purchased in the first place.

Personally, I'd always go with the "best" guitar I have... although I understand the whole concept of keeping a guitar in perfect shape by not playing it a lot, it still seems contradictory to the whole exercise of owning a guitar. THEY ARE MEANT TO BE PLAYED!

Perhaps if you chose to play the "good" guitar more frequently, you'd have much the same connection and feeling for it that you have for your "beater".

I do not consciously try to ding up or scratch my guitars; I treat them with respect and care, BUT I play them freely and take them with me wherever I go away from home for any length of time.

Trust me; you are not going to hurt your best guitar by playing it more frequently!!!

Then again keep all the guitars and be single is also an option. I am here to help.

A domestic situation that forces you to sell your belongings is not a positive one. IMHO no one who loves you would demand that.

Keep what you enjoy and play the most, sell what you play the least.
