What is the nut width on this one? Having had a P03 in “silver oak” the sound must be good.

Silver Oak is an incredible tone wood. I really wish I was in the market for another dread. This would be winding its way to Michigan.

Jean Larrivee likes this wood so much he used it on his 45th Anniversary Edition. Those guitars retailed for $4000. Silver oak (Grevillea Robusta) is also known as Austrailian Lacewood. This is an awesome guitar, and incredible deal.

From Guitar Magazine press release 5/31/2017
Jean Larrivee speaks: Personally selected by Jean Larrivée as one of the best kept secrets of the guitar building world, Silver Oak has a sound as jaw-dropping as its figuring. When asked about Silver Oak in a 2014 Guitarist magazine interview Jean explains, "It is one of the best woods I've used. We made our 45th anniversary [guitars] with this wood, so I feel very strong about it. It was a real surprise at the beginning. I thought it was a freak so I made a few others and the results were the same, so I decided to make many of them." https://www.guitarinteractivemagazin...series-models/ |

Talked to Victor. Great guy and helped me decide which Larrivee best suits my style. I think I've finally found my "brand"! The Larrivees sound so punchy and bright.

giving this thread a bump. I have a Larrrivee OM in Silver Oak and it's just one of those rare and special tonewoods that digs into the soul. Jean Larrivee nailed this.
