I do have a #1. I call her Blondie. I've got 5 electric guitars but almost always play this one. I built this in about '95 I think from white oak that made up the sides of a barn in my back yard. The mahogany neck has a V-Shape and I love it.

I have two electrics - a Les Paul Custom and an R7. Currently the Custom is my #1 because the R7 is still new and offgassing. But once the R7 is less smelly it will probably take over.

I also have 2 other Gibson SGs in addition to my SGJ (Standard, '50s Tribute with P90s). For such a simple build SGs sound and play great. What are your SGs?
2011 SG Special 60's Tribute
2013 SG Standard
2014 SGJ
2016 SG Standard with 50's wiring

Great SGs. I should know this but what is 50's wiring? Does that include the treble bleed?

It is a way of wiring the tone and volume controls so they are interactive. It expands your tonal possibilities exponentially. You can get the woody tone you've probably heard from old Gibsons. You can roll down the tone in the neck position and get Clapton's "woman tone" he used in the late '60s.

Another reason I do it is to replace the cheap printed circuit board they use these days with quality components. It does make a difference in tone.

The treble bleed is something different but can be used with '50s wiring. I've tried it but don't like it. I prefer the fat tone I get from Gibson humbuckers. The treble bleed detracts from that.

Wow, I was wrong on two colors, lol. How do you like the Bigsby? Do you use it often? Does it keep tuning stability?

Mine is a 1994 PRS Custom 24, root beer, maple neck, completely stock.
I have about 20 electric guitars, this one fits my hand quite well.
My '64 Gibson SG Std. is #2..........

As others have said...it depends on the day & my mood. This Core Series PRS 10-top 'Studio' is an incredible all-around versatile guitar, almost perfectly splits the difference between Fender & Gibson (the color is a knock-out, too!)

Then, a while back I ran across a nice deal on a white MIM Strat and I always wanted a white one, so I picked this up and replaced all the hardware and electronics, in particular, I used the Fender Custom Shop "Hot Noiseless"...same pups used by Jeff Beck...so now this one is competing for the #1 spot...second-to-the-least expensive ax in my collection and it gets that Fender mojo in spades!

Right now, I have a PRS CE 24 with in flamed bray black. I really like the guitar and it's the first PRS I've owned. I think I prefer the bolt on to set neck sound different, even though I don't think it's really huge from what i can tell. It's a versatile guitar and I feel like it can do a lot. It seems built well and plays smoothly.

As others have said, it feel between Gibson and Fender in tone which I really like overall.
