In fact, here's a video of him playing a Martin Backpacker. I think he sounds pretty good here. I believe for a time he was just using a basic Boss RC20, though he now has a custom looping system.

Okay ….. Norman Blake or Mary Flowers. The playing is the same but the sound is different. The point is what compliments or best presents their style of playing.
