Default Carvin Guitars

I've owned two and still have one, a pretty basic looking SC90 model. I sold a CT624 that I thought I'd never part with but got the hankering for a new Strat.
Okay, so the Carvin I still have, there is something about that large radius neck that is almost flat that makes the guitar a dream to play. The setup is fairly low and you can get harmonics on every dang note if you want. I bought the guitar in new condition for under 500.00. I'll never part with it.

I used to get their catalogs in the mail and drool over the pictures. I owned one of their tube amps but never a guitar. They have new owners in the past couple years?

They simply decided to split the guitar and amp businesses. The guitar manufacturing returned to the family name, Kiesel, and the amp/electronics business remained Carvin, a mashup of Mr. Keisel's two son's names.

I don't think new owners. The Kiesel name is the original name of the founder. They decide to change the name of the guitar line to that. The name Carvin was a combination of the owners two sons name from what I recall. Something like Carl and Kevin.

Carson and Gavin, if I recall correctly.

Part of the "split" was that both brands moved to new facilities. I recently visited the new Kiesel location in Escondido. They have a lot more space in their new showroom, and many more guitars and basses out on display than before. No Carvin amps in the demo rooms, though...
