Any Old Footswitch for Silvertone 1482?
Hi all.
I just wanted to ask this here, since I won't have time to check in person until Saturday. I have a mid-60s Silvertone 1482 that I've never had a footswitch for in the 20-odd years that I've had it. Can I use any ol' single-button footswitch with this thing? Amazon sells a Fender 1-button for $15, and I'd love to be able to turn the tremolo off with a switch. The only footswitches I have are a "stereo" one for my 50w 2x12 (controls reverb and channel), which does nothing on the Silvertone, and a "mono" keyboard sustain pedal, which turns off the Silvertone's tremolo when I hold it down. Thanks in advance. |

that is probably the exact one i bought and it works well with my 1482. most 1/4" footswitch should work tho. even if you have an a/b switch it will work.
play music!

Well you got me all excited! But my A/B switch doesn't do anything.
I'll haul it down to my local shop Saturday and see if they have a switch that'll work with it. And tell me this isn't a great little amp! Probably my best pawn shop acquisition, ever. |

the 1482 is a great amp. i have an extra cts speaker that i'm thinking of trying in it in place of the original zenith or fisher, whatever it is. speaker swaps on that amp can mean quite a bit. some people even put in a new baffle to get rid of that split piece of masonite that blocks part of the speaker due to its diamond shape, and, to decrease the vibrations due to its being thin. i've recapped mine as well as added the 3 prong plug and it sure runs much quieter now. play music!

No telling. Almost certainly my cables. The footswitch jack obviously works, since my sustain pedal turns off the tremolo. Like I said, I'll take my amp down to my local shop and try one of their footswitches.
