My wife would say what she always says...after what a handsome man you are....don't you already have a guitar like that?? LOL

She thinks a dread is a dread, though I have to give it to her, when I was considering which guitars to cut loose, she told me that the D-40 Brazilian Limited Edition had a much bigger voice than the D-45 Mike Longworth, hence the D-45 went. Maybe she does know something about guitars....

Well when I explained to her why I need an Olson, she did say that makes sense. She even told me to that the Brazilian was prettier and that I should get that one, and even was all over the added inlays and so forth, honestly as if they were all freebies. Maybe she did not realize that her suggestions added another 6k to the project. Oh well, money well spent I am certain.

I took the Paradiso outside for an extended session. When I got back to the booth, Mary was there waiting for it!

I tuned it to G (taro patch) slack key tuning. It absolutely sang in that key. This was the first time I had actually had a Ryan guitar in my hands, so everything about it was hitting me for the first time: bevel, flutes, his new bracing (APP), the guitar itself, etc. While the inlay is also a bit much for me, it definitely was a beautiful guitar.

on a side note, I had an hour conversation with Kevin Ryan this morning, and we finalized the specs of my all koa Nightingale guitar. It's build slot has come up, and we're ready to roll. KR found me some stunning Koa to work with, I can't believe that it's finally my turn.

Congratulations Kevin. I'm looking forward to hearing about your build. We might be on about the same schedule ... Kevin and I will be talking about mine on Friday.

I'll agree with you that Ryan's are "consistently immaculate".......but the ones I tried in Healdsburg just had a mediocre sound to me.....

Some things only come around and are seen only once in a lifetime
