Default Ryefields (Part 1)

This is the first part of my piece 'Ryefields (a trilogy)'.

For some reason I did videos of me actually seen playing each part in reverse order so here is a playlist in which you can see the first video which is the music complete to photos and videos (2020) followed by each part in the correct order. If you can stand it you can watch them all or maybe just see how they fit together.

Link to Ryefields (a trilogy) playlist https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PL...9MfaVUQ-m2z_NN

For what it's worth I generally don't EQ or add reverb etc. since I invariably want it to sound like it does to me when playing.

This is lovely, Phil!

It sounds very classical, but has a lovely ring to the sound on your steel string guitar!

Very enjoyable!

Hi Phil,

This is lovely, it resembles medieval lute music to me. Very well played!

Phil,

I enjoyed listening to your trilogy, and it is beautiful. My favorite was the Ryefields Part 2. That piece resonates with me.

Best,

Tom

Thanks. It was actually influenced very much by the Elizabethan lutenist John Dowland and of course John Renbourn.

"Lovely" appears to be the descriptor of choice. And for good reason. A sweet antidote, on an early spring morning, to the less than lovely news over the box. Call it an aural vacation.
Thank you.

As always, thanks for a delight. Your photos were captivating, the connection between the images and music was so nicely done, so cinematic.

I feel fortunate to have a bit of open space dotted with oaks near us but we have a water treatment plant at the heart of it instead of a centuries old house and our vistas are built up in all directions.

Fran
