Is it ok to tell our plans if we are builders?

Well, I'd say that if you decipher the original question, it could easily be interpreted to also include what custom commissions (that you as a builder) are expecting in 2016.

So I say, yes, I don't think you'd find ANYONE here that would object.

Pretty modest this year. I'll have two coming from Breedlove that I provided the wood for....an not neither on is from "The Tree". One will be a knock out while one has great woods and very simple appointments. I have a wish list...but I've sold more these last two years than I have acquired. Sometimes food and lodging comes first. I'm 63, how many guitars do I need!

Hey, Guitar Friends--Just ran across this thread. I took kind of a long chance and ordered two guitars from an up-and-coming German luthier named Alexander Voss, after seeing a post on the AGF on the so-called "Miss Maple" guitar. I was really captivated by his design ideas and aesthetic tastes, so I took a chance while his prices are still relatively low. Maybe the guitars will be done sometime in this coming summer. He's been a great communicator and seems to truly care about his work and his reputation, so I'm feeling not quite so anxious now as I did when I first placed the order. I think these guitars will be quite excellent, and I'm excited to see the finished products. Happy holidays to one and all. Best, Jack

I have a Stehr SJ Baritone that is in the works (Joel's already started on it), and I will most likely start a build thread after the New Year. I went with an exotic Jacaranda (Indonesian Rosewood) with an Adi top and Camatillo bindings. Should be fun!

Maybe late in 2016, but possibly in 2017 is a Bashkin OM with a Zircote and a Carpathian top with Ebony Bindings...

Default 1930 om-28

It's a Jimmy Caldwell 14 fret 00 that is meant to be a little sibling of my 1930 OM-28 (though by no means a copy as far as aesthetics go). Back and sides are madagascar rosewood and the top is a Hampton Bros. red spruce top that is a real beauty. It will have bar frets, a pyramid bridge and nickel Waverlies (I have two guitars with banjo tuners and decided not to go with them for this guitar). It's meant to be a very traditional Martin-esque instrument though someone commented accurately that the rosette and purfling are somewhat Larson-like. Jimmy duplicated the neck shape of my OM-28 from several epoxy templates I made. See some pics below and in the Guitar Gallery section of UMGF. Jimmy is in Austin, Texas, and is great to work with. Can't wait! Tim

Default What Custom Commissions are You Expecting Delivery on in 2016?

I have a highly anticipated build by Mark Hatcher coming early in 2016. It's in the finishing process now. See the Bastogne Walnut guitar on the Hatcher 2015 thread.

I am expecting two builds that will hopefully be completed in 2016... a Traugott (model R : German spruce/Tree mahogany) and a Ken Parker archtop (Adi/mahogany). Time will tell if they will be done in 2016 or 2017, since both builders are quite busy these days. Whenever they finally are completed, they should be well worth the wait (the Traugott has been about a 3 year wait!).

Well... I have a build with none other than Joel Michaud scheduled tentatively for late 2016. If not, I think I shall be looking at early 2017? My Lucky Tree asked for a sibling, how could I refuse....

Default Sometime Early in 2016:

Tinker D-35 style back, 12 fret Sloped Dread in Flamed Paduak/Flamed Maple/AAA Adirondak top with multi-piece neck, electronic pick up, and other bling details:

http://www.acousticguitarforum.com/f...d.php?t=348738

Due to bumps beyond Ed's control, it's been a long time coming but will be worth the wait.

Along with my recently received EJ Henderson, it will end my GAS problem.

John

I'm impatient to see that Mike! Two of my favorite builders!
