Thank you Quentin, I was hoping that the end graft would look good done this way. Time to balance it out with some binding!

Time to work on the neck and move this guitar along. There are other things going on behind the scenes like making a fresh batch of purfling and binding for this guitar, that you will soon see.
For now just a few pictures of where the neck is at this time.

The neck being glued up in the clamps.

The basic shape of the neck ready for it's new transformation.

Denis, I've posted this before on your other build threads, you make a great neck! I don't recall seeing a neck pic in the 5 individual pieces. Thanks for posting, It gives a great perspective of how it comes together.

I appreciate that Dru, I will be showing as many of the main steps to building the neck. Each section of the neck are book matched, I find this makes a very stable neck.

By the way, I see that you are coming up on 17,000 posts, WOW! Thats a lot of posts

More progress. The body is finished and ready for some final grain raising and sanding. the neck is in the works and I will post more of that progress later on. The curly Maple binding doesn't show too well in the pictures, but is nice.

First off, Cutting the binding and purfling channels.

Starting to miter the end graph purfling to accept the side purfling.

Taping down the binding and purfling.

Here are a couple shots of the binding cleaned up after gluing. The wood was also wet down in these pictures.

And now the neck begins to take form. I will have more of these a little later.

Starting to shape the back of the neck the old spoke shave.

Dennis - more great pics! I like the one with the "old spoke shave". Something I haven't seen much in build pics.
