Thanks, KG.
Now, with the pockets marked, the routing commences:

With the brace positions located, we glue in side reinforcements. Our preference here is directly above the back braces, which gives a rather clean uncluttered look inside. The back brace pockets give us the locations:

In this shot, Ryan is cleaning up those side braces. They are triangulated, and the ends tapered to meet the linings:

And finally, gluing on the back:

Thanks again,

Steve

Ha! So how do you like the neck?

So when we unstrap the assembly, and flip her over, this is how it looks:

Haha I require at least and inch or two of visible material before I pass judgment, but I always love you guitars so I think saying, "it looks great!" in advance wouldn't be too far off from my upcoming opinion.

Thanks Andrew, for the vote of confidence--we'll endeavour (for our British friends) to exceed expectations.

Gonna-be-beautiful, Steve, but the cut-a-way is on the wrong side. We finally got an inch of rain tonight, first in 5 months. I am still concerned about fires as I am sure you are, keep your wood pile safe!!!

Thanks, Lefty. But you know that--in the future-- we could arrange for a cut away to be on the other side, don't you?

As for the rain, believe me I'm happy for you. And yes, we're not out of the woods yet, so to speak. As long as there is dry timber standing around us, there's always a concern. I've been making mental inventory about which sets I'd grab first if forced to evacuate. Sure, insurance could cover the loss, but some pieces seem irreplaceable.

I drove out 343 yesterday going to Rusk and back and saw where they'd had the fire a week or two ago. Knock on wood, but that was toooooooo close. We gotta get some rain!!
Oh, that's looking really nice, Steve. I'll ease by soon and peek closer at it.

Thanks Bob. Yeah, come on by. And bring some rain with you, please.

Looking good Steve.

I hope you guys get the rain you need. We are having the hottest begging of October in a very long time. The weather is all over the place.

Thanks Trevor, on both counts.

Time to inlay the top, and get it ready to brace.
This guitar will sport a lovely piece of Sitka spruce which, when atop the Indian rosewood, will give real punch to the upper end.
Here's our first step in the rosette installation:

Cutting the ring of spalted, curly maple. Amazing stuff, with colors all over the place:

And here's the ring, bordered with violin purfling inner and outer rings:

Cutting the sound hole:

...and cleaned up a bit:

And here's a view from the inside:
