Hello everybody - I hope I post this at the right place.
My name is as appears (Manos), architect, amateur luthier, Greece.

As a bouzouki player (I don't play the guitar) I started building (Greek) bouzouki's family instruments - but the spark to get into making at the first place was a little vintage parlor guitar I bought a few years ago (in order to learn to play - never did, the making got me tight).
Last year I started to build guitars, a certain type of folk guitar ("laiki" in Greek, means "folk", used in Rembetiko music; based mostly on European romantic and parlor guitars, developed in Greece during 1920's - 60's).

Steel strings, ladder bracing, neck joint at the 12th fret. Smaller body size, 62-64 cm scale (24-25").
Here is my latest construction

I joined the forum (that I often visit) just a few hours ago.
By the way, congratulations to everybody for the quality / information of the discussions.

My current project is an acoustic lap steel guitar : not a "full sized" Hawaiian, just a box-shaped trapezoid body. I have so many questions for this one, and I figured that this is the right place to get some answers.
I have searched the forum, but didn't find a discussion that could follow.
Should I open a new thread for a lap steel construction ? if that's all right, would "Build and Repair" be the right place to do so ?

Thank you in advance.

Welcome Manos. I am actually getting ready to walk out the door to and drive to a nearby town in Ohio called Xenia (E,evia) which supposedly translates to “hospitality/friendship” in your language. I think you will find both of those attributes in this forum!

Hello Manos, welcome to AGF. You might want to checkout the Custom Shop sub forum where other builders show and discuss their projects — here https://www.acousticguitarforum.com/...splay.php?f=38

Hi Manos,

Do you ever get to Limnos? A friend here has a house on the island that he spends about half the year at.

My friend's family is from there although he was born and raised in the US. I have never been there but he keeps threatening me to go as I'd have a place to stay, not to mention he has a darkroom there for me to print my old black & white negatives.
