I received the guitar today. I must say pictures don't do the metallic finish justice. This guitar is absolutely amazing for $450. No fret sprout, the frets are nice and level. Intonation is great. People were right about quality of the Korean made Danelectro guitars. My only complaint is the string guage is a little light but that is easily fixed.

I like the late 90's Korean Danelectro guitars. The 3 lipstick U3 and the 12 string are fantastic tone, value and design.
But... I have to say my Tom Petty 1.75" wide nut width 660-12 Ric is worth the extra money. It features lush, thick, chimey tone. Amazing with a little dirt pedal! It is very easy to play and has the feel of heaven fretboard. I scored mine in the LA Cl for $1,500. Amazing guitar especially because I prefer Ric's low wound strings to hit first instead of the tiny sympathetic strings of the other 75% of 12 strings out there. I just grew up with it so Travis picking rhythms are huge sounding with the fat strings on top. Try the U3 sometime with the 90's stronger Danelectro bridge design. The tone sounds so good in a band setting especially. |

Tom Petty's Rickenbacker is a very nice guitar and worth whatever someone is willing to pay for it, but speaking for myself, the 12 string is not my primary instrument, I enjoy it when I play it, but most of the time I play a 6 string.
No disrespect to the Rickenbacker, Ive played a few and they sound great. The Danelectro 12 at $350 scratches my 12 string itch very nicely.

I have to agree. I rarely feel the 12 string itch, but usually my Guild F412 scratches that itch. In a rare instances where I need a 12 electric for that, the Dano should work just fine. I have not played a Rickenbacker, and I'm sure they are great, but I'm really surprised at just how good the Dano plays and sounds.

That being said, I still wish I had kept it. But it looks like GC is having a sale on them right now. Might be time to take a trip down there and grab another one.. $350 is a great price for one of these... https://www.guitarcenter.com/Danelec...tric-Guitar.gc |

The price shows as $399 today and the case is extra. Maybe they will lower it if one asks. Seems like a fun toy though.

The $399 one is not the semi hollow with an F hole. It's a different body, different price, black only.
