I've used Elixirs almost exclusively since, oh, 2001 I think, including on my electric guitars and my 87 year old mandolin. For the most part these days I prefer PBs on my acoustic guitars.

Ditto, best feeling and sounding strings I've ever used or heard in over 50 years of playing.

Newtone lists their lights as 12-50.

Is that because of the composition (double wound) or is the 50 vs 53 negligible?
Plus one on Newtone. On various guitars I use their Masterclass PBs, their low tension Heritage (which I prefer to the more expensive TI Plectrums), their amazing double wound strings and their baritone strings. The only ones they make that I haven't bonded with are the 80/20s.

Just last year was the end of the “Masterclass” Gibson brand which were sold mostly through Musicians Friend and Sweetwater.
I have about 15 sets that I use exclusively on my J45. They were the stock factory string for that guitar for years and a unique Gibson spec. They are still the best sounding string I ever used on that guitar.

Here's another vote for Newtone.
I use their 15-56 Michael Messer set on National style resonator guitars - usually nickel, though the guitar I acquired most recently sounds good with phosphor bronze.

I've used D'Addario since I started playing...but have recently "discovered" Santa Cruz Parabolic strings. They are pretty amazing, and last a long time. They're my go-to now. I wish they weren't quite so expensive though...

I voted for a bunch because I use a bunch of different strings. I'm not even sure what brand I have on my nylon string guitar right now.

I'm the opposite of brand loyal with acoustic guitar strings.

So for me 80/20 is the go to on my Furch Cocobolo.

1) John Pearse 80/20

2) SIT Golden Bronze

3) EXP 80/20 Bronze

I've been enjoying the Throbak Phosphor Bronze Round Core strings lately.

I voted Other. Play nearly all fingerstyle with thumbpick, natural nail on index, Alaska Piks on middle and ring. I keep coming back to Thomastik Infeld Plectrums. I like to buy their 11-50 set and replace the 11-14 with 12-17 or 12-16 (which as plain steel strings does not have to be TI). I typically get 3-4 months life out of a set so the higher cost up front works out. Still try JP, DR, and SCGC Parabolic at times.

Love the tonal balance and feel of the Plectrums.

D'Addario and Rotosound both started making strings about the same time.
Though I'm not surprised D'Addario has so many players.
I "am" surprised at how little love Rotosound gets.
I know here in the states, they're not easy to find.
But there are allot of UK people around here.
Once I tried them I was hooked.
I see allot of people who don't like to change their strings. Even seen the word Hate used.
So these people buy Elixer, or the like. Yuk.
If you don't like changing strings. Maybe you should find another instrument.
Like wood blocks.

I've got guitars with Elixir strings on them. I'd do it again. I'm cold-blooded I tell you. Cold!

And I already like small and odd percussion stuff, including wood blocks. Of course for that I blame Frank Zappa, Harry Partch* and the Art Ensemble of Chicago--not the Elixir strings.

We return now to the usual thread featuring complete agreement about what strings are best

.

*of course, Partch's tuned percussion stuff wasn't really all that small. But it was very well tuned.
