Geeeez im still struggling with this one. I usually dont have any problems with travis picking but in this tune the timing get’s messed up in so many ways as soon as the small bridge with the D, Am and E chord kicks in.
I really underestimated this one

After seeing the movie "Harold and Maude" in its entirety a few days ago, I've been tackling Yusef/Cat Stevens' "If You Want to Sing Out, Sing Out".

I am committed to (mostly) faithfully recreating that C/G/C/G/C (I think there's a quick F in there somewhere too) riff he uses to fill in some form or fashion throughout the song or otherwise die trying.

Cascading artificial harmonics.

I saw Tommy do this to kick off Somewhere Over the Rainbow and thought to myself, OK, that little trick I just gotta learn. I've unraveled how it's done, I just have to work on speed and smooth.

I saw Paul Davids do a sweet cover of ”Freight train” with alternating bass on E, A & D.
I realize that i’ve been taking the easy way out and only alternated between to low strings so i guess it’s time to practice it a bite more.

I recently decided to not learn anything new right now. Instead, I made a list of all the songs I've learned and realized I've forgotten some parts of quite a few. So, I'm going to divide the list into 7 subsets, mostly organized by the tuning, and go through a daily rotation to "relearn" each to where I can confidently play them all.

That's my plan, but I know it's all about commitment to the task and that's often where i fall short.

I am halfway thru If I only had a brain (from Wizard of Oz), St. Louis Tickle, and some Bossa Nova, working on chord technique. My goal this year is to learn Classical Gas and Home by Andrew York.

Blackwaterside - Bert Jansch’s version...it’s challenging, got all the notes down, but trying to make it flow like Bert is the next step, not sure I’ll ever be able to sing and play it though.
