Not saying they don’t sound good but JP has never met a brand he couldn’t promote. I don’t blame him for it but I take what he says about X brand with a grain of salt.

I have never seen such a positive review as that, and man, from the sound of those guitars, it's no wonder. Just wow and freaking amazing! Yay Epiphone!

Well, he's certainly not promoting Gibson.

I own a 2012 Epiphone EJ-200 that was also made in Indonesia.
Absolutely nothing wrong with the build quality, plays like a dream however every specification upgrade in this new 'Inspired by Gibson' series is a big positive step acoustic-wise.

From laminates to all sold woods.
From plastic nut & saddle to bone.
From thick poly finish to thin.

Visually there's the new smaller headstock, keystone tuners, different rosette and extra color added to the pickguard design.

And no more 'barn-door' pick-up controls.

Sounds like fine guitars to me. Like my G45, those are a bit bright compared to my Martin rosewood guitar that is a fine mellow guitar.. But they sound great.

I’m starting to like the brighter sound. You can get mellow by playing closer to neck. Can’t wait to play the J45 and 200.

Listen To These New 'Inspired By Gibson' Epiphones

Like Bruce, I also own an Epiphone EJ-200, mine made in Korea in '94. Actually it is a very nice guitar which has a big sound. It's my go-to in day of wicked wonky humidity due to the laminated B&S, and it doesn't disappoint. Big humidity doesn't work that well with big solid body guitars.

Wouldn't mind trying out a maple J-200 or rosewood J-45 from this series. Might be tempted to see if one followed me home.

Couple of guys over on the Gibson forum have bought the new Epiphone 'Inspired by Gibson' Hummingbirds and are super happy with them too.

They're hoping Epiphone does a Dove and J-185 version too!

I think it is amazing the quality of guitars coming out of the Far East. I do wish those acoustics had Rosewood boards, or even Ebony. Some of the Epiphone Electrics like one of the Les Pauls has an Ebony board. It is a spectacular guitar from what I have read.

I bought the Inspired By Gibson Hummingbird. It sounded great from the get go.

I did have a pro at Russos take out the cheap pickup and out in a K&K, as well as set it up. Worth it.

The guitar looks like a million bucks, and unlike prior Epis the finish is lighter, and less glossy. I have no doubt this has helped the sound, and I think it looks better.

I still have less than a grand in this guitar, and it’s an easy playing fantastic guitar. I’ve hear the J45 version is even better... I’d love to try it.

There is some reverb on this recording, but this is the guitar. It is a great strummer.

Why not use the Gibson 1.72" necks? And there's no LG-2

My local GC shows the Hummingbird and J45 in stock. Might have to take a look this weekend.

An entertaining review of Epiphone Inspired by Gibson range, I only have one issue unfortunately a major one.
Unless he's the only guy to receive an Inspired by Gibson J45 with Rosewood back and sides he seemingly can't tell by looking at or playing a Mahogany back and sides guitar. This is a worry, leaves me thinking why listen to a word this guy says. Just underlines the necessity to play the guitar yourself, how many on here would make the same error ?

Well shoot! Link isn't working. I was trying to post the Youtube that Anderton's did comparing the Inspired by with the real deals. Here's the link to click on. https://www.bing.com/videos/search?q...5&&FORM=VRDGAR
