cracks in front of bridge
What do you make of this:
(Mahogany topped guitar w/nitro finish, bridge is ebony) The bridge has not lifted, action is unchanged. Are the little cracks a sign of structural stress? Should I be worried?

They do indicate stress risers due to string tension, that's the first place they appear. It's not unusual and eventually they will cover the guitar.

Jazzizm, as you've read, this can be normal. Does it always happen - no. Here is a link to an article (not written by or endorsed by me) that explains some elements of finish checking. There are probably hundreds of articles written on this from slightly different perspectives but this will get you a start.
